My name is Tony Ortega, I came from Mexico back in 1978. I lived in the Los Angeles area until 1992 when I moved to Yuma AZ. My first job in the banking industry was with United California Bank in 1980. Soon I realized that I liked sales and I moved to the Mortgage division of the company. I realized that helping people buy a home it was the most important purchase of their life and I wanted to be part of it. I always wanted to be in sales but I wanted to sale something that meant a lot to the buyer.
I went to a loan officer school for about 3 months and I received training in all aspects of processing before I was let loose as a loan officer. United California Bank became First Interstate Bank, this company was the best school I had up to that point.
I moved to Yuma Arizona where I live with my family and I now work for Flagstar Bank. I have been in this industry for over 20 years and I still love it. I have been part of take overs, mergers and latelly a company going under.
I have a lot of experience as an originator and a branch manager. I love FHA loans. I have a lot of respect for what I do since it has provided my family and I great benefits. I come from a small village and I never saw myself doing such an honorable job.
